History: Wiki!
Personality: Maribelle is the sweetest snob you'll ever meet. Although she comes from high society and even considers herself besties with the royal family, she declined the easy life of just being a duke's daughter and basking in her privilege. She willingly chose to put herself in danger by joining Ylisse's royal army, the Shepherd, as she feels it is her duty to use her talents to aide all who need it. To her, doing otherwise would be the peak of selfishness. While she does have a habit of looking down on others due to their lower class, it's more of a bad habit to break and one she is well aware of and trying her best to break. She knows she's a snob and hates herself for it.
If she spies a chance for anyone to improve themselves in any aspect, she'll leap at it and offer to teach them herself if possible - after all, who better than she? And if she doesn't know the area where they're trying to improve, she'll try to learn it as well so she can pass the lessons along. However, this is where her stubbornness can really strike, as she refuses to back down when she's set a goal for herself and anyone else - even if the other person didn't exactly sign up for her help to begin with. She's also little quick to anger, especially when people are breaking the rules, no matter how small or insignificant. In fact, her anger can get so hot, she has an extra unique angry expression that no one character in the game has!
On the flipside, if you become her friend, you'll wind up being one of her greatest treasures. She values her loved ones very dearly, willing to do whatever it takes to protect them. The closer one gets to her, the more they'll see a playful side of her - because only to her best friends and family does she share actual jokes and play pranks on them. They're also the ones who will get the most physical affection out of her, such as big hugs.
One final important part of her personality is her sense of justice. She's well aware that in many parts of society, fair trials and punishments aren't delivered the same way depending on one's class. One of her goals in life is to restructure her kingdom's judicial system in order to fix this, knowing it won't be easy or even well liked. But she's willing to make the time, struggle, and sacrifice in order to see this balanced.
In short, she's a lovely young lady with a big heart, bigger temper, and biggest ego. She knows she's flawed and is trying to not only fix that, but fix the world all around her one person at a time. Treat her with respect and she'll be your companion for life. Insult her and she'll want your head on a pike.
Powers and abilities:
Magic:
- Technically, every character in FEA can use magic, but certain characters can wield it more efficiently, and as a result the attacks are stronger. Maribelle has the affinity for magic, specifically for healing and offense, but she requires certain items to do so – staffs for the former, tomes for the latter.
- In FEA, some characters can change into certain classes easier than others, which again means it’s something they have a natural affinity towards. As such, Maribelle does have the potential to also wield Dark Magic, if given the proper tomes and practice.
Weaponry
- While as of now, Maribelle only has the talents for magic, the classes-growth of affinity applies here as well. She has the potential to become a Pegasus/Falcon Knight and a War Cleric, which means if properly trained, she has great talent for the lance and the axe.
Mundane
- Can ride a horse (with the potential to ride pegasi), play the violin, make a great cup of tea.
Chosen faction: Undine
Suitability: High-fantasy, low-tech is pretty much your basic description of Fire Emblem as a whole! She’s even used to the concepts of the existence of other realms. While she will be initially frustrated with how magic works as opposed to how it is back in her home (she’s used to wielding spell-books and staffs, as opposed to it flowing freely from the body on its own in certain cases), she will manage and hopefully become a supportive member of the community.
